GMW BODY SHAPES | ||||
|
GMW CS Model:
The GMW CS guitar is the most popular model in the GMW family of
guitars. Standard features include an alder body, multiple pickup
and bridge options, plus a maple neck with either our GMW Traditional,
or the GMW Millennium headstock designs. Both of these headstocks
feature our patent pending "tilt axis tuning" feature, which
allows better access to the tuners, while giving the headstock both
added mass along with a very unique 3D presentation. This headstock
design feature is truly unique to the guitar building industry and
sets the GMW headstock designs apart from any of the
other styles present in the market place.

GMW LTS Model:
The GMW LTS "laminate top" model is an obvious extension of our standard
CS model. It generally includes a highly figured flame or quilt
maple laminate top, although we've also used such woods as flame koa,
spalted maple, sapele (pronounced "sa-pee-lee"), burl maple, flame
redwood and figured camphor burl maple. Other woods such as
lacewood, rosewood, bubinga, flame cedar, paduak, purple heart and
birdseye maple are also available upon request. This model can also be
ordered with body binding in white, black, creme, ivoroid or in abalone
with a white cap, although with the maple laminate tops, an "au natural
binding" look can also be ordered.

GMW ATS Model:
The GMW ATS model is the arch top version of the familiar LTS GMW
guitar. Like with the LTS model, it typically includes a highly
figured flame or quilt maple laminate top, with a top thickness of
approximately 5/8" at the center of the body. We also use this
body shape for our highly popular wood inlayed hot rod flame models such
as G0030 and G0031 (see GMW Archives), so it's a perfect choice for
those that want a little extra in terms of styling and a custom shop
appearance. Body woods are typically swamp ash and one piece
mahogany, although like the GMW LTS model, we've also made these using
alternate woods such as quilt or flame maple. Korina (white or
black limba) is also available upon request.

|
GMW DS Model:
The Dinky DS shape is
simply a more streamlined, or "reduced" size, CS shape. This model also
incorporates a more angular horn profile and sharper edge radius then
the CS. All the pickup, color, and hardware options described above for
the CS shape are applicable on the smaller GMW Dinky DS shape.
|
|||
|
GMW SS Model:
The GMW SS model is an extended horn version of the CS model described
above. As with our DS model, all of the standard features
described above for the CS model are applicable to the GMW SS model.

|
GMW CT Model: The GMW CT model simply expands the GMW line into another familiar body style found throughout the guitar manufacturing industry. All of the features described for the GMW CS and LTS models are applicable to the GMW CT model. To date, we have never produced an arch top version of the CT model analogous to our ATS guitar, but it is available upon request.

GMW Velocity V Model:
This GMW model represents our V shape. It may be ordered in either the
Randy Rhoads style shown here, which maximizes upper fret access, or in
a more traditional format, whereby the last two frets are located
further down into the body. G0110NT would be an example of the more
traditional Velocity V shape we offer. The Velocity V follows the same
options presented above in terms of your choice of woods, pickups,
bridge system, and colors. The most popular version for this model may
be viewed by visiting our Randy Rhoads Polka Dot V's in the Guitars for
Sale section of the website. Finally, due to the added stability of a
guitar at the neck/body joint, we typically manufacture this model as a
neck thru body instrument. But a bolt-on neck model is also available.

|
GMW Velocity BV Model: This GMW guitar represents our BV shape and follows the same format found with the Velocity V model above only with beveled edges. As it so happens the Velocity BV pictured here is owned by none other than Michael Sweet of Stryper and is being used on the 2012 tour!!

GMW "Firefox" Model:
Like the GMW Velocity model, this GMW guitar represents a variant on a
popular body style made by other guitar manufacturers. This model
is available in either a bolt-on-neck or neck-thru-body format. As
with all GMW made guitars, clients are invited to specify all of the
features to be incorporated into the guitar such as the woods to be
used, in addition to the parts, color and the overall construction.

GMW "SPE" Model: Like the GMW Velocity and Firefox models, this GMW guitar represents a variant on a popular body style made by other guitar manufacturers with modifications by Oz Fox of Stryper fame. This model is available in either a bolt-on-neck or neck-thru-body format. As with all GMW made guitars, clients are invited to specify all of the features to be incorporated into the guitar such as the woods to be used, in addition to the parts, color and the overall construction.
GMW "VB" Model: The GMW VB model expands the GMW guitar line into another popular body style found throughout the guitar manufacturing industry. Clients are again invited to specify their choice of body and neck woods, hardware and guitar color, and pickup brand and models. The sample guitar shown here incorporates a figured koa laminate top over a solid one piece mahogany body, but both solid color, and graphic based VB models, may be ordered.
